No MSG dim sum? Yes please. I found this place through Instagram and the ‘Truffle Shiitake Buns’ immediately caught my attention. They looked perfect and they even intimated the stem! Adorable. So this was of course on my ‘must get’ list in addition to the ‘Steamed Rose Floret Bun’.

Some of the food we ordered. Shown in the picture is: Wok-fried Spicy Turnip Cake, Rainbow Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed Rose Floret Bun, Seared Chinese Pancakes, Truffle Shiitake Bun and Spiced Ginger Pork Knuckle,

The ‘Truffle Shiitake Bun’ is amazing. The taste of truffle was strong and the mushroom filling inside was piping hot. So good. A must get for a bun lover! As for the ‘Steamed Rose Floret Bun’, the inside was filled with red bean paste. It was good but I must say the appearance looked better than it tasted.

Next up, the ‘Seared Chinese Pancakes’. Yep more carbohydrates, I told you guys I love them. This was again an amazing dish and I have eaten a lot of these, after all, they are one of my favourite dim sum. Usually, they are quite oily because each layer is brushed with oil. However, this one isn’t! There are so many layers to it, isn’t oily, and fried to perfection.

As for the ‘Wok-fried Spicy Turnip Cake’ it was cut into little cubes and each one was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and full of flavor. I mean, it can’t get any better than this. It was accompanied with spring onions and crispy lotus. Must get this again. Must.

Okay that was all the vegetarian dishes we got but I went with my dad and my boyfriend, and they ordered some non-vegetarian dishes that they loved! So I’m going to share them with you guys as well, because not everyone around you may be a vegetarian.

The ‘Rainbow Shrimp Dumpling’ had a lot of shrimp and my boyfriend said it was delicious*. However, it’s kind of expensive, $29HKD for one shrimp dumpling. They also got the ‘Pork Dumplings in Soup’ which did not disappoint and the soup, was full of flavor, yet no MSG was used*! The ‘Chix Spring Rolls’ (no image for this) were good but compared to the other dishes we ordered, it did not make it to the top 5 dishes we ordered*.

For meat lovers, the ‘Spiced Ginger Pork Knuckle’ and ‘Signature Roasted While King Pigeon’ (no image for this) is a must according to my dad and my boyfriend. They both agree that these two dishes are actually in their top 5 dishes, with the pork knuckle being their second favourite dish*. If you do get the pork knuckle, I recommend getting it as the social platter as its $108HKD for 3 dishes, whereas the standard pork knuckle costs $68HKD. The ‘Signature Roasted White King Pigeon’ was on the chef’s recommendations and my dad and my boyfriend loved it*! It was only $38HKD and they would definitely get it again.

Lastly we got the ‘Floral Rice in Lotus Leaf Wrap’, which was good but does not stand out compared to the other dishes*.

All in all, this place is amazing! I love the table tennis in the middle of the restaurant that acts as a table! Also, who doesn't love an open kitchen where you can watch the chef make your food, especially when the dim sum is so cute!?!

  2. Wok-fried Spicy Turnip Cake

  3. Seared Chinese Pancakes

For non-vegetarians, my boyfriend recommends these dishes:

  3. Signature Roasted White King Pigeon
