- The Long Awaited 'Honey and Co.' -
I’ve wanted to try Honey and Co for a while now (almost 4 months I think) and damn, I wish I came here earlier!
Honey and Co. is a Middle Eastern café in Fitzrovia and although the place is quite small, I like the cosy feeling it gave off. The lunch menu came with mezze and I’m not an expert on Middle Eastern food by any means but the mezze was so good. The warm pitta bread with the hummus was amazing, my only complaint was that there wasn’t enough pita bread for the hummus (although you can order extra pita bread for an extra £1). And not to mention, I was addicted to the salted almonds. It also came with a ton of olives (so that’s an extra bonus for all the olive lovers!)

Mezze: Hummus, pita bread, quinoa salad, cucumber and olives, salted almonds, olives, falafel, and roasted aubergines.
I ordered the BBQ aubergine, which is described as ‘roasted aubergine in a BBQ tahini crust with jeweled rice salad and lime’. I have no idea how they did made it but it was honestly the best vegan food I have ever tasted.

BBQ Aubergine with Jeweled Rice
Cutting into the aubergine, it was filled with tahini, which is made from ground sesame seeds. It’s full of healthy fats, high in protein, and has a high alkaline mineral content, which makes it easy for your body to digest. I personally love tahini sauce and I usually add it to salads as a dressing. Putting it in the aubergine was definitely new for me and it was absolutely genius. The rice was accompanied with cranberries and pomegranate, which made it quite light and complemented the aubergine really well.

All in all, Honey and Co. is a must try if you live in London! I would recommend booking for larger groups, as the place is quite small. When I come back (and I definitely will!) I’m leaving space for their desserts.
